Unhappy reving idle, throttle while driving

The idle revs up starting at 1500 and quickly going to 2000rpm over and over etc while stopped. It continues to push the throttle (bet 1500 and 2000rpm) while driving (and stopping). I have an automatic, and I assume the problem is electrical etc. I need the car for work.

mine started doing the same thing

my 2000 galant just started doing the same sort of thing. when i would cold start it, it would idle at 2000rpm and skip between 1000 and 2000. also while driving the same sort of skip would occure, but at lower rpms, especially when i let my foot off the gas.

a mitsubishi tech told me that something was causing my car to idle too high, and he turned the base idle down a bit. I found that after i installed my air intake and exhaust (both of which were installed long before this problem) my Mass Airflow Sensor had become tilted back. i adjusted it so that it was level, and so far the idle issues when cold started have dissapeared, however it still has an issue while driving.

if you have found out any information about your issue please share it with me.
