Our family isn't good with pets :(

We've had countless fishes, two budgies, and two rabbits.

Let's see... The fishes all died. We could never keep the water clean. The pump didn't work. The tank was always so smelly. Yuck! :apuke: We attempted to keep fishes several times. Each time it was a complete failure. Whoever says fishes are the easiest pets to raise is WRONG!!

The two budgies never liked us. We tried being nice to it and did everything the books said. They always bit us. It got worse when we added the 2nd budgie--a male budgie. (My parents thought the other one was lonely) There was one that was OK, but the other (the male) was brutal. We couldn't get near him. We had them for a few months and the male one flew the coup. A few week later, we're like, what the hey, and let the other one go too.

My dad took in two rabbits a family friend offered us. They had a litter of them. Both were females. One was all white, the other spotted. The white one was nice, the spotted one was a bitch! Neither of them liked us and they always run away or bite us. Long story short, we gave them away.

I'd really like to get a small dog or something, but seeing a track record...it's not likely gonna happen.

Anyone here have pets? Hopefully better luck than we've had.

Sounds like you've had pretty bad luck with pets!

We’ve got 3 cats and they’re all spoilt rotten. Love them all to pieces and wouldn’t be without any of them.

We had our last cat 14 years.Sad to say, her time has come...we now have two hooligan cats....Bubble, andSqueak.Already the vet bills sare enormous,as is the cost of carpet cleaner. One likes to fight with cotton buds for hours on end,the other likes to launch surprise attacks on his sister.Too bad for you if the attack starts when she's asleep on your lap!

I have a spoiled rotten little Pug dog, a Beagle, a tortoise, 2 birds, and a 46 gallon tank full of fish. The tank takes about an hour per weekend to care for. We just restocked fish last weekend after we had a catastrophy at Christmastime with 4 algae eaters...the were sick and therefore brought a population of 75 creatures down to about 18.

i hear ya on that. I had a Pleco (kinda like an algae eater) that had Ick. Didnt affect him much, but it nearly killed my Clown Loaches, who are really susceptible to the disease. its amazing how fast disease can spread in an aquarium, even with proper aeration and filtration

My family's pets consist of 2 rapidly aging black cats (one long-haired, one short) and a vivacious 2-year-old Huskymix puppy.

But as for my own personal pets, I've had 2 Hamsters and one Anole (mini-chameleon). All 3 of those pets died due to one fault of mine or another. The first hamster was old when I got her, so her death was inevitable. The second hamster died as a result of an infection of some sort that I likely could have prevented had I kept the cage a bit cleaner. The anole's story is saddest. I left it outdoors during the summer just to provide a change of view. Well, sadly, it got surprisingly cold one night, and the little guy died because he needed a warm environment to live.

Back on topic, however... I would still be willing to try to keep another pet of my own. I've grown-up quite a bit since I've had those pets, and I think that I'm prepared to try things again...
