you mean 6L diesel or 7.3? My dad has a 7.3 psd its really good. Nice torque and all. No problems at all with it.

i like the fords cause they have a good front end compared to the dodge and chevy the dodge 1500 is only 5 lug the chevy is at least 6 lug 1500 i like ford then chevy never cared for dodge plus i dont like the fact of a ram emblem on the hood my girl friends dad got a hemi 1500 and its like a car i want a truck that i can work every one i no has the fords but thats what i think

Are you wanting to look at the new '05 superdutys? My dad has a '03 with the 6.0l psd crew cab long bed. I realy like it as long as you don't have a problem driving a big truck. The new ones have alot better steering and ride though.

Yes, from looking at my name you can tell I'm a Dodge fan. But I'm also partial to Chevys and Fords, and try not to discriminate. Main reason for suggesting a Dodge is about the opposite of M3FordBoy's argument. A local construction company that I deal with decided two years ago that they were going to stop using Dodge trucks on work sites mainly because of prices. Ever since they have regretted it. The newer Ford 250 and 350's that have been put on the sites have had nearly twice the maintenance and repair costs.

The 6.0L's are new. It'll take a few years to work the kinks out, but they are still great motors. Dodge Cummins are great motors as well, but their transmissions are horrible. If I could get a Dodge Cummins motor with a Ford E4OD tranny, that would be nice.

We haven't had any problems with our truck. We've had it for just over a year. It now has 20k miles on it. I sure you would be fine in getting a Ford or Dodge diesel just test drive them and see what you like. Both motors should last forever as long as you take care of it. But I would have to say a down falll to the Dodge like stang said is the trans.

Since nov 03 build of the 6.0, the problems have been panned out. The new 6.0's are great running motors. The only problem with dodge, would be that in 06, they are switching to a mercedes deisel, i do not understand that. Dodge replacement parts are more expensive than ford or chevy. Ford and dodge both have the front solid axle with coils in '05. At this point, dodge does not have an automatic 5 speed transmission. The cummins power band starts about 1400 RPM and ends about 2800 and peaks around 1600 rpm or so. The 6.0 starts about 1500, peaks at 1800 RPM ( cruising speed in overdrive ) and goes to about 3600 RPM. With the 5 speed you will always be closer to your peak, meaning better pulling power.
