Any books you could relate to?

I think there are two books that I can so totally relate to:
  • The Stranger - It's a French novel about this guy who takes life as it is handed to him. He is repeatedly distrusted because of his reaction to sitations. To me, I see it as a commentary on society and how certain event require a certain type of reaction. So in the end, he ends up killing a guy for no reason (it just happened and he was kinda forced to in defense). The book then goes into how if he played the part of a repentant criminal and acted a certain way towards the judge and jury, that they'd let him off with a significantly lighter sentence. It goes into the whole protocol and procedures of acting in court. The main character didn't believe in this and chose to be true to himself. He was sentenced and executed. I really related with the character so much. I too hate how society expects you to act a certain way.
  • Catcher in the Rye - This book is about a troubled youth who is sent away to a boarding school. I think he drops out of school (or is kicked out) and something happens. Kinda like "Good Will Hunting" but he's not super intelligent. Anyways, the whole theme in the book is the protection of innocense. As much as I didn't like reading this for my English class, I totally agree with the theme. Makes me kind of a prude, but I don't like how as we grow up, we slowly get corrupted. The part where he sees FUCK written on the wall at a elementary school is so true.
