Frozen Ignition Switch
Hi,
I own a 1997 Lincoln Town car. I have a problem with my ignition switch. I've tried turning it and it won't turn. I've tried disabling my alarm system, and it still won't turm. I've tried rocking the car and turning the steering wheel and still it won't budge. Finally frustrated I called a tow truck where they had to drag it on the flat bed of the truck. Has this happened to anyone before? They took it in and I will keep you posted on what they find. Thanks, John |

Nope... that's a new one.
I once had some problems turning the switch backward into the Acc. position but that worked itself out.

Re: Frozen Ignition Switch
I had the car towed to a local Ford dealer and they found out it had bad tumblers in the lock. They replaced the lock and I got it back the same day. It cost me $200.00 dollars. The good news is that I can use my same key as I did before.

Good news... I've never heard of tumblers going bad like that. Very odd. Glad you got it back on the road.
