Angry instrument cluster not working!!!

i just got the care recently. i love it. a 1993 325i. however, my instrument cluster went out. the strange thing is that the chimes for kwys and headlights don't work either. i checked all the fuses twice. none blown. any advise?

I might check out the SI board. It generally has batteries hard wired to it that have given up. There is a ton of info about these little deals on the net.

Could you point us to some of that info? I, for instance, have no idea even what the SI board is.

I live in germany and almost all the instrument cluster problems are do to the wire harness. replaced mine and a coworkers and solved all problems. hard to trouble shoot
