its cold outside!(and inside!)

So, i came here 2 see if any of u have experienced the same problems with the caravan heating up or not. I have a 89 caravan, 2.5 4 cyl., 113k miles. ive had another, an 88, that had the same problems, but they didnt start till about 265k (no, thats not a typo lol.) so, anyways, the hoses are hot, the thermostat is the second new one and is working properly, good radiator(i believe), full of antifreeze, blower works well, no visable leaks, heater control valve working, but i cant get any good heat. with the temp of the hoses, it should be hot, its not. I tried on my other 1 to blow out the heater core via the inlet/outlet hoses, replaced the thermostat 3 times, and the water pump, radiator, etc. I just cant figure it out. it dosent overheat, and it looks like ive got good circulation in the radiator. any good ideas? its gonna be a long cold one this year and id like to be able to feel my toes when i get out of the van this year! thanks for the help.

How hot are the heater hoses? I have seen water valves that seem to work okay but, are actually defective internally. Also, make sure the cold air mix door in the heater box is working.

Greetings:

I have had a bunch of these vans and have had the "no-heat" problem a few times also.
After searching and searching I have found every time it has been the heater core being plugged up.
At first I did not unplug it with a normal garden hose bvackflush, but then I cut both hoses and put in a permanent splice, to keep from distressing the inlets on the firewall.
Then I backflushed it with "partial" pressure from my pool filter pump. When I did this, I could see a noticeable "glop" come out of the other hose.
Hooked it all back up, and I was cookin' again.
