question about 2003 up xm radios

I have a 2003 up 6 disc cd changer that I am trying to sell on ebay, I was told that it is not xm ready, it has am/fm button instead of the band button I have enclosed the link to the page. Is this correct or does it matter what it says for the band button.

Re: question about 2003 up xm radios

I don't know why the factory would put an xm sticker on the head unit if it wasn't so.

Re: question about 2003 up xm radios

Have you looked at other auctions claiming that they are xm ready. You might be able to compare pictures and determine for sure.

What part about the Radio is "I figured that it would be to costly so I am putting it back on ebay".

What other costs are assiocated? Are you needing to run the external antenna and cut the hole in the roof?

THe only cost besides the tuner and antenna is..$10 a month? And you don't have to cut a hole in the roof to install the antenna.

I have a 2002 silverado, and that radio is out of a 2003 and newer, 2 different wiring systems, the newer ones use a class 2 serial data bus system to controll the radio and other systems. I would basically have to rewire my entire truck, replace the center dash that the radio bolts to and a new dash bezel. To find qualty parts for that it was going to be a thousand +. SO there is more to it than just adding the tuner and radio and antenna. I just got a aftermarket radio and the xm tuner and I am done for way less than a thousand.
