Don't let him talk trash. I ran one from an 80 roll or so with my stock '93. I posted a while ago, follow the link, it was a good run. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ighlight=SRT-4

ok so i have a 92 VR4 with exhaust and a HKS bov. i have run a couple of srts the first one had a bov only and i ran him from a stop and smoked the shit out of him. the second one had a stage two upgrade, catless mid pipe, bov, intake, and a nitrus cooling intercooler. the third one i raced was an 05 and i pulled pretty hard from a30 mph roll, the only reason he beat me was cause i missed third gear. over all a vr4 would win against a stock srt.

i think it would be a very tight run...my buddy had a 04 SRT-4, and we raced a 96 vr4 with alot of mods, we ran from stop and a roll, and both times it was back n forth....srt-4 are extremely fast cars for their class, and have very little lag.

Stock for stock its "close", I distroyed one with an intake and MBC. But just remember they have factory upgrade packages, and can get pretty damn quick right off the showroom floor.

With out a doubt they can get quick. if it werent for the "governer" i think that we would of gone a bit past 154. either way though, they sure as hell give neon a name. i think twice before a race ricers now, you never knwo what the hell they come stock with. IE SRT-4 (turbo) etc...ya know?? I think if i lost to a civic i would cry and sell my car....

Its not that Mercedes designed the SRT-4 engine. the engine is old, really old, it used to be on the old stratus rts back in the 80's in Mexico. the Chrysler and Benz company are united now under Dimler-chrysler and yes some of the techs from Mercedes did help out in the design of the new set up. its and old engine with new tricks. Its a hell of an engine too, very tough and very reliable. the achilies heel of the SRT is its braking and corner entry. the car is too fast and too light so it understeers tremendously in the hands of an average driver, plus the piss poor brakes dont help it slow as quick as it can speed up. if you wanna beat the SRT-4 run it on a technical course or some serious twisties where your AWD will keep you in line. I used to have a 03 SRT now I have a 94 base and I have smoked 3 SRT-4s in autocross in the past 5 months. and I am a rookie in the autoX.

let me get this straight? You have a 3000gt SL and you smoked a SRT4??
not to be a jerk, but i really find that hard to believe.
My friend has one, we raced, and he smoked me...(i have a 92 stealth ES) i could keep up when he woudl turn the boost down to liek 7 or 8...but other than that....SRT by a long shot...Dont get me wrong...i love my car..but SRT's are faster, by far, than an SL
