99 Camry V6 30K mileage
Recently purchased this car, very happy, but a few things have popped up. 1st question. I have recently lost the light on the right hand side for the heater control panel just below the radio. Left 1/2 of control is illuminated, right 1/2 seems duller than it used to be or ought to be. How can I replace this? Is it a bulb or an assembly? How does it dissassemble? 2nd question. The left side control panel for the power mirrors and such is not illuminated at all. Is this normal? 3rd question. The time delay for the instrument panel seems long, what I mean by this is you start the car, put it in gear and then wait 5-6 seconds for the dash lights to come on. Is that normal for this model? Is there any adjustment? My Buick is almost immediately. Thanks in advance. |

Re: New 99 Camry owner with dash light questions, thanks
To your first question, I had the same thing happen to my 98 Camry... One of the bulbs illuminating the climate controls went out... It is a matter of bulb replacement, but you must take out the whole climate control box to get to the bulb. If you want to be sure to not break anything, you're going to want to bring it to the dealer for this.
To your second question about the side-mirror switch, it is not supposed to be illuminated so you're fine there. In regards to the third question, all the lights come right on in my 98, and I doubt it's supposed to be any different in a 99. Hope I could help! |
