alignment or tire problem?

ok i have a 2001 honda accord and its pulling to the left. so i got the alignment done at wheel works about 2 months back and now it pulls to the left again, so i bring it back and they told me its not the alignment its the tires. the tires are slightly bold in the rear but the fronts are ok. would the tires be the problem? they said i need new tires. well i do have tires coming in from the tirerack.com on the 30th but i just want to know could the tires cause the truck to pull to the left and the steering wheel about 1 inch off from the center? basically when i drive i have to hold my steering wheel 1 inch towards the right for it to go straight.

is wheelworks telling me the truth? it seems like they just want to sell me some tires to redo my alignment but i can be wrong.

thanks in advance.

Re: alignment or tire problem?

Could be low pressure on the left tires.

I am a front end\tire mechanic maybe I can help. It could be tire pressure, tire seperation, something in the front end, for example if you have a bad tie rod end and they missed it an alignment wont help because the toe will come out again. Or you may have a defect in the tread which you actually cant see. One way to check that is to rotate your left tires to the right side and vise versa, if you car pulls the opposite way then thats your problem. If thats the case then its your front tire and just rotate it to the back until you get your new tires if its bothing you that much.

Re: Re: alignment or tire problem?

That's what I was going to say, cross rotate the tires. 1" off on the steering wheel is a lot, possibly it wasn't straight when it was aligned.

Re: alignment or tire problem?

Ask them to check the alignment and give you a printout to prove it's not the alighment so you can rule this one out.
