3k vs gsr

i was driving home from a party like 10min ago ( 94 3K N/A - Ram Air)when a white lowered 96-2000 GSR pulls up next to me and revs his engine... well of course i laughed and dropped down to second gear... going about 45mph.. he takes off.. then i take off after him.. i pulled right past him at about 60-65 ( with no surprise ) and only pulled harder as our mph increased. i know my car has about 35-40 more horse.. but with the wieght difference.. i thought it was gonna be a lot closer. anyways.. if anyone with the same car was ((((curious)))) on the outcome.. there u go...

Re: 3k vs gsr

Damn... why can I never find a race! I guess it has to do with the fact that there aren't hardly any ricers in my town and very few in the surounding towns. Damn I want some ricers!

Re: Re: 3k vs gsr

You sure it was a GSR?? Because most GSR's are capable of running low 15's stock if I remember right. In fact a friend of mine with a GSR hung right with a supercharged SL driven by a kid who lives around my area. The LS's are mid 16 second cars so it would make more sense if thats what it was. Either that or teh GSR driver was horrible.

Re: Re: 3k vs gsr

GSR had intake and nothing else. The SL had the knight supercharger running 5 pounds of boost. He has ran a best of 14.7 so it makes sense. Both are 5 speeds.

Yes. But he wasn't racing a quarter mile. So that doesn't matter.

Re: 3k vs gsr

Trap speeds are indicitive of what would happen in a roll race.

Re: 3k vs gsr

lol, not sure of the traps. But still a gsr with a e.t. of low 15's should be high 90's. They are nothing to sneeze at.

Unless of course, you have a bad cold.

But yeah they are good little cars. Still I think The 3s should win anyhow, just cause well... its a 3s

Re: 3k vs gsr

ok ok.. you said the GSR raced a Supercharged SL and hung with right?... well i can honestly see that if of course we are talking about the 3rd GEN 3K.. with 165 HP.. but im not seeing it with the 222hp DOHC. with 5 lbs of boost.. it would have been atleast at 280 + easy. thats almost a hundred more HP than the GSR.. not to mention TQ... regaurdless of wieght. and if that was true. then the DOHC N/A would hang with the TT because of the wieght.. and we all know thats BS. So was it a Supercharged SOHC (165hp), or a Supercharged DOHC (222hp)??

Re: 3k vs gsr

all I know is a GSR with simple bolt-ons will dip into the 14's easy with someone that knows how to drive. and my old LS with I/H/E with 19 lb 17's ran mid-high 15's(friends teg runs 15.4-15.5 alot and on the street I barely lose).

and about those SL's my 95 mustang V6 auto, a car that an old isuzu i-mark NA pulled on with double the passengers beat a SL.

that VR4 though, I want one bad but cant afford a niec clean lo mileage one, and im sure anyone who buys a VR4 beats the piss out of it so I dont want one thats been driven a ton.

Re: 3k vs gsr

gsrs are mid-low 15 second cars , same as 3000gt N/A's. i dont see how a supercharged sl could run a 14.7?? i have heard of people doing 14.9s with just intake and exhaust on the SL's so i ask myself does that kid know how to drive a stick???
