oil opinion?
During my last oil change i switched to synthetic 10w/30. i haven't really seen any improvments in the performance and the oil pressure at an idle is a little lower than what it was with regular oil. The car has 113,000 miles and doesn't smoke or burn oil. For those who run synthetic in there car what weight would be best? thanks for the opinions...

Re: oil opinion?
10w30 is great. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic. I'd only use 5w30 in really cold weather (like 20 farenheit or lower)

Re: oil opinion?
btw you shouldn't really see a difference in performance to be honest, but the synthetic will not break down at high temps, so you can rev really high and you'll have more protection from the oil. For daily driving you probably won't feel a difference.

Re: oil opinion?
10w30 is fine. you won't really 'notice' a big power increase, it's pretty small. a little bit lower oil pressure at idle is fine, all you really need is about 20 psi at idle and then 10 psi for each 1000 rpm the motor spins. also depends on the motor. your motor's durability will benefit from the synthetic. and now that you've used synthetic, you can't go back to regular unless you wanna trash all your seals.

Re: oil opinion?
I still prefer conventional oils myself. I usually run 10W40 Valvoline, and have not had a single problem since rebuild, 25-30k miles.
