2000 Jeep Cherokee Front Drive Shaf Question
Hi
Recently I have purchased 2000 JeeP Cherokee 4x4. I have a question regarding front drive shaft. When Transfer Case is in 2WD position,I have noticed that front drive shaft is rotating together with the aft drive shaft. I'm not sure if it's normal. I am new to 4wd. I know the basics of 4X4, but never had hands-on experience. It is Comand Track TC, Dana 30 front, and Chrysler 8.25'' Rear. Dana 30 does not have vacuum connection, or maybe I coudn't find it. Thanks For the Response Chris |

Re: 2000 Jeep Cherokee Front Drive Shaf Question
is this while you are driving or with the Jeep in the air? While you are driving the front axle will turn the driveshaft but if it is in the air,the only thing that can turn it is the t-case.

It is while driving very slowly, and four wheel on the ground. Thanks for response.

Re: 2000 Jeep Cherokee Front Drive Shaf Question
its normal for the front drive shaft to spin....without locking hubs the axel stays engaged all the time...the t-case just diengages the section of the gears that spins the front drivetrain
