Head from a D15Z1 block on a D15B7 block

I am new here so I didnt know I was supposed to open a new thread. But thanks for tor reply though. The idea I mentioned (on the thread " D16Z6 in place of D15Z1" ) might sound silly but I blew my old D15Z1 engine block, which was VTEC, ecxept the head that is still perfect. So I bought from an autowrecker a D15B7 engine (that is not VTEC). Now the car start acting funny when it warms up. Besides when the engine runs on wide open throttle the DTC 21 is triggered (21 is VTEC valve DTC) I believe when the computer goes to closed loop it tries to kick in the VTEC valve, as there is no VTEC valve on the engine the PCM triggers the code 21. The car is getting a lousy gas mileage and the engine is also running very rich, HC is up to the roof. The PCM also tries to kick in the EGR valve , but this D15B7 head doesnt have any. So it triggers the EGR DTC. Now I am planning to put my old VTEC head back on. I wonder if it's gonna work. Can anyone give me a clue?

Thanks
