Re: abs light is on??

Sounds like the ABS system was kicking in.

Was the road slippery when it happened?

Re: abs light is on??

Sometimes the speed sensor on the front wheels have been known to get dirty and need to be cleaned and reinstalled.

Re: abs light is on??

In mine the other day, I was pulling up to a stop sign I hit a little slippery spot, the ABS kicked in and now the light is on permenently and the ABS wont work at all?
Im pretty sure this is the first time since I have been driving the thing that the ABS has even come on.
Would dirty sensors cause the system to totally shut down?

Re: abs light is on??

Yip, it would, try resetting your computer and it should be good.

If it comes back, you will ned to clean the speed sensors on both front hubs.

Re: abs light is on??

i've also heard that if the lights on the computer might have goten shocked and if you speed up to 60 mph and nobody around and you slam the brakes that it will skid and then the ABS will kick in will be fine. do at your own risk. i've never had the problem but my ABS comes on all the time from driving. never had it stuck on.
