Lightbulb '02 G20 Sport owner to be. . .

Hi everyone! Coming up on an exciting time: am planning on buying a '02 G20 sport pkg within the next few weeks here in NJ, wanted to know if anyone could share their experience/tips with me on:

*How much you got your '01/'02 G20 sport for?

*Talking down the price..

*How's Infiniti's financial services? - or should I finance it through bank/online instead?

*Any comments on their special financing program for recent college grad's?

*Any haggling or scams from the salesperson?

*Your overall Infiniti dealership experience?

Thanks, your input is greatly appreciated and hopefully I will be spending a loT more time on this site. :help:

hey whats up.. and welcome...

i live in NJ as well and got my g20 at Ray Catena. mine is a 2000 g20t with everything except the cd changer and mudflaps.. after tax i think it was $24,500 or somewhere around there... btw the service was amazing there and faaaaaaaaaaaaar beyond what any other dealership i've seen has done to keep customers happy... they even send birthday/christmas cards and everything.. for my parents too (at the time they co-signed cause i was still in school) ...the first year they even sent my mother a HUGE flower arrangement for mothers day!!

i know this has nothing to do w/ the car etc.. but it shows that they dont just forget who you are as soon as you sign the dotted line... at least where i went!

btw.. i went with IFS instead of a bank... and i had 6 months left of college so i couldnt take advantage of the recent grad deal...

good luck with the car!

Welcome! My dealership experience was pretty damn good too. Most other dealerships (Toyota/Lexus especially) treated me like a ghost. They seemed to be trying to ignore me but I could tell they would rather not want me there crawling all over the cars.

Go with the Infiniti loan...the intrest will most likely be better than at a bank. That's usually the case here in Canada, not sure about the US though.

Enjoy your G! Soon you can start on the slippery slope that is car modifying. It all starts with a POP Charger, lowering springs, bigger wheels and then a ride in a full bolt on car! I won't even mention turbos. Right Dom?

Haha ...ya right J.

Well let me tell you about my experience . I thought I had it all until I took a drive in the GFORCE Machine ...well let me update that title ...GFORCE BEAST.

Now i'm even more pumped....pulleys, cams , short shift, alas not the foghorns, and insulating tape in my engine compartment will be in the works.

I'm writing Luke to give me some quotes as we speak.

My experience with the infiniti salesperson was fantastic. However With their bodyshop and service department ....iffy at best. They do wash the cars each time you bring it in though

There is a mystery surrounding the Infiniti name...a lot of people don't know what to make of the G20, so boyz like Jason and I show them by pounding the streets in front of them.

Lets just call it a yuppy street racer.

Welcome to the Automotive Forum!:alien:

Hehe you're too kind. I wouldn't exactly call it a beast though. Now 11:1 compression and some C series cams would do the trick. Just wait until I finally get around to a built motor with a BB T3/04E in it!

Yep, the Infiniti experience is a lot better than all the other dealers...just like b00gie said, i got flowers from them, cards even a phone call from the service manager to remind me to change oil for the first year!
as for how much...i have a 5speed G20t with leather package...i think it's fully loaded except for the heated seats, I paid $24200 out the door. I put $5k down with 3.9APR for 4 years.

Working for a company that supplies parts for Nissan/Infiniti has perks... I got my 02 sport with auto (yuck) tranny, splash gaurds, and heated seats for a hair over 21k.... If I'd had waited till now woulda been another 500 cheaper! financing wasn't as good though, since I'm a youngen and my first car I bought with cash I had no credit so I had to go through a local bank and was charged some BS fees because I had no credit (not bad credit, just none lol).

As for trying to bicker them to that price, they didn't make any money on my car and the dealer dropped his jaw when I came in with the paper work and told me my deal was better that his own....

Chris
