Winter Tire Question

I am planning on buying a 2004 TrailBlazer EXT. The tires are 245-65-17 and I will require snow tires. A couple of tire shops suggested putting on 16" steal rims and a 245-70-16 tire. Are there any concerns doing this that I should be made aware of. The 245 65 17 is a difficult size to find.

Thank you

I have an 03 tb and the same tires that came with it. It just does just fine in snow never any problems. I would not switch out the tires with 245-70-16

I was concerned because we get heavy snowfalls in Ottawa (Canada)and we ski almost every week and more so when there is a heavy snowfall. Maybe I should go a few years with the tires on the truck and invest in some really good SUV all seasons. The cost to get rims and the snow tires is around $1,200.00cdn. Thanks for your response, I was originally thinking that I do not need snow tires.
