1999 grand am SE clicking sound

I just purchased a 1999 grand am se and notice that when I use the turn signal there is a clicking sound that stays on for about 2 minutes and then goes away but comes back every time I use the turn signal, also the oil change light came on and the oil level is fine. If anybody out there knows what is causing this to happen please help me. thanks!!

The clicking sound is your hazard switch in the center of your console. It was recalled on the 2000 grandam.I had the same thing happen on mine but I have a 2000. The oil change light comes on every few thousand miles to remind you to change the oil..it has to be reset. Ithink you have to turn the cars ingnition switch to on but don't start it....then step on the gas pedal 3 or five times and the light is supposed to reset.then you can start it and the change oil light stays off....if that does not work then ask someone at one of thoses jiffy lube oil change centers or the dealer can tell you how in the service department .....saxman.
Good luck !!!

The problem may not be the switch. I had the same problem and replaced the switch, but he clicking remained. I had to repalce the turn signal/wiper assembly to fix the problem.

As far as the oil light is concerned, you have to reset it by pushing the reset button located in the fuse panel on the left side of the dash next to the door. Check the owners manual - I think the key as to be at the on position.

thanks a lot guys! I fixed the oil change light by resetting the switch on the fuse panel was very easy. I will try to fix the clicking sound, any idea of how much will it cost to replace the turn signal assembly?

Re: 1999 grand am SE clicking sound

I seem to remember mine assembly cost around $80 from a junkyard. New, are probably around $200.
