z32tt vs todays sports compact
just amazing that after all this years the z32tt is hanging with the new kids on the block. and not only that but the engine is capable of alot more boost witch makes some of this new car and there tech look bad. lets see know the z32tt make around 300hp(96 model around 285hp) and what around 287tq. and weights anywere from 3200 to 3400. what would be the point of buying a new car when some of these new rides are making around the same power.
mitsubishi evo: 271hp@6500rpm, 273tq@3500 curbe weight 3263lbs( to me its and ugly looking car. to boxy srt4: 230hp, 250tq at extremely high boost pressure( a rental car) wrx sti: 300hp, 300tq curbe weight 3298( it looks like the evo in a way) '05 stang gt: v8 4.6 300hp, 320tq weight 3298( a v8 making 300hp, that sucks compare to smaller displacements engines) 350z: 287hp@4800rpm, 274tq@6200rpm weight 3225( didnt like the interior to much) poniac gto: 5.7 v8 350hp@5200rpm, 365tq@4000 mazda rx8: big dissapointment; as fast as a civic si i dont think the z32tt is running hight boost in stock form. more boost and basic boltons (ecu, air intake, exhaust,) will put all this cars and more to shame. considering that you can also the the same to all this cars but will cost you alot more money. i love my z |

It shure is amazing how our 90's supercars fare against the "new kids on the block" as you say. Its a good thing alot of them don't know just how good they are!

Re: z32tt vs todays sports compact
I was told the VG30DETT are 400hp machines but had to regulate it due to emissions and Japan rules.

VG30DETT+Cone filter+cat back+14 psi of boost (what most new turbo cars run anyway) = 400hp-ish.

Re: z32tt vs todays sports compact
BTW... you guys may want to consider that the newest 350Z Track model now has 300HP... can't wait to see a the 350Z (Track) vs 300ZX TT (stock) race!

supposedly, the first 350z track model. the one with 287hp or something beat the z32TT. stock for stock. the new one with 300hp should take the z32TT pretty easy if this is so. not that 13hp makes a huge difference but it does make a difference.
