Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

McLaren F1 fans,

Of all the street legal McLaren F1's in the world, I would like to know which F1# you prefer the most. You don't have to give me only one in particular, it could be 3 or 4 of your favorites.
Please post pics to your selection.
I'm very curious to see what Peloton25 has on his list.

My list:
#073

#069

#028:

LM03

#011

Not in any order...

011 - Just because

069 - Stunning

049 (the car @ Taylor and Crawley and featured recently in evo) - I just love the interior

016R - Looks very nice in the pictures

Re: Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

street legal means different things in different countries. thankfully they are all street legal in the u.s.a. now under the show and display category, if my understanding is correct. my boss was thinking of getting one and had me look into this and when i called the DOT i was told they are now all ok as long as they meet the epa rules. before it was just 95 and 96 models i think. they didn't seem to care about obd2 or any of that other crap that used to be a problem before. and the servicing can be done by some bmw place--theres one on each coast. boss has a carrera gt and murcielago and lotus elise right now and plans on getting the exige if they make it.

anyone have info on the zonda? i believe there's a couple floating around but i dont' see anything about htem being allowed under show and display.

another good supercar these days is the konigzegg ccr. tha t sounds awesome and i think they just got u.s. approval so i cant wait to see them. is there a kongizegg or zonda forum anywhere with real owners?

Sorry to be so rude but this is a McLaren forum. Please post Zonda and Koenigsegg stuff in the appropriate forum.

Btw, the Koenigsegg can meet emissions but it was not originally allowed into the US

what a bunch of twats. sorry to be so rude, but there's plenty of mention of other supercars in this section, from ultimas to f50s to zondas. besides, the context was very much mclaren-related so what is the problem? you are a bunch of spotty-faced kid collecting pictures. hardly makes you special.

ok, rant over. bck to my question. what is the meaning behind the comment "are you for real?" i don't get it. please explain.

Re: Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

and btw, there was never a time when the koenigsegg was not allowed into the u.s.a. in fact, one came here for the gumball rally. and a korean diplomat had one here for a week before taking it to korea. admittedly those were temporary imports of nonconforming cars, but it kind of blows your blanket statement away, doens't it.

but we can't talk about that in a mclaren forum.

Monster - while it may be ok to discuss the Pagani or Koenigsegg in certain contexts in this forum, a thread about which street legal F1 you prefer the most does not seem like the right place at all. In fact, your entire post seems very out of place and unecessary - and that's the opinion of someone who is most certainly not a "twat" or a "spotty-faced kid collecting pictures".

Insulting the 'regulars' of this forum, regardless of their age or reason for being here won't earn you many friends or gain you much help. I suspect that Thorst asked if you were for real because it's rather easy to wander into this forum and spew an endless amount of BS. In forums like this you will often find the more educated people are very skeptical of those who make wild claims.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now, but please understand your approach could be cause for great speculation. I too was once a young teenager wise beyond my years who would spend my free time telling stories on the internet. It's not a very difficult thing to do even if you don't know a lot.

= = = = = =

Moving on to address the original topic and hopefully get this thread back on track.

My favorites:

#011, LM3, #045, XP4, XP5, #051 - also, I don't know any of their chassis numbers, but the silver cars that are fitted with the downforce package like Paul Stewarts are quite stunning.

Re: Q: Which street legal F1 do you like the most?

point taken. it was a simple digression, just as things pop into your mind when you have a regular discussion. if you want to be so tightly focused, it changes from a forum to a convention where everyone presents theri tightly prepared papers. anyways, ok, lets drop it.

peoloton, i am surprised you dont say that 07r is not your favorite. what makes it less appealing to you than the others you listed?

If I had the cash to buy only one McLaren F1, it would have to be a road car. A full fledged road car, not one of the GTRs converted for road use. I just like the completeness of the entire package, and a lot of that, including the third seat would be missing from a converted GTR.

I'm also not known to be a huge fan of these LM-look-a-likes such as #07R or #11R. I think it was a mistake for McLaren Cars to paint these GTRs in a color that allows them to be so easily confused with the true LMs. Of course not all the LMs were painted orange to begin with, so maybe it's a wash anyway.

Ideally, I'd love to have #051 - that car would suit my road car needs just about perfectly. Then, barring the availability of an LM to park next to it, I wouldn't mind adding GTR #16R to my garage, as that's my favorite converted GTR.

This is the car I believe is #051:

I think the color is even better than that of XP5. This is Meissner's car, but it has been seen listed for sale at KS-Autohandel in Germany along with the longtail FINA GTR that he may also own, as well as several other cars confirmed to be part of his private collection.
