VTEC system malfunction CEL

Hey guys, lately I've been throwing a CEL. It came up as VTEC system malfunction. I'm pretty sure this has to do with my VAFC screwing with VTEC. But I've never heard of anyone having this problem.

OK here's the facts. I have the lo-hi crossover at 4k. The hi-lo is set for 3900. I know it's low but according to the dyno that's that best place for it to be.
The CEL will come on in VTEC. But there's a catch. I can accelerate through VTEC in every gear except fifth and sometimes fourth without the CEL being thrown. The key is accelerate. If I let the engine slow the car down and chill in VTEC for a bit the CEL will come on. The exception is 5th gear, where is seems to trigger the CEL on matter if I've got my foor to the floor. I think the CEL is triggered at a certain rpm between 4000 and 5000 rpms but I'm not sure.

I'm really stumped and don't know what to do or who to bring it to. Is it the VAFC or something else?

i had the same problem with my si, try changing the lo-hi closer to the stock setting if it doesn't work just deal with the cel your not hurting anything. if you really want to fix the problem and keep the vafc convert to obd1.

Problem is now fixed. I didn't know about the undated wiring diagram Apex'i released that now had you connect the VTM wire that was previously unused. Working great now. Thanks though.
