This might be a really stupid question but im a real nooby when it comes to cars so i had to ask.
When your car is pretty old, have hi milage, your engine is not the same as it used to be (performancewise), is it clever to change the engine (or maybe restore it?) if you really like your car? or lets put it this way, how much would it cost to change the engine of a 95 eclipse gst with another (new) 95 eclipse gst engine (or even something better if possible)? Less than another second-hand eclipse? Thanks for ur !

Re: Changing engine vs. changing car
if u want a new faster better engine get a 6bolt and swap. but if u dont wanna do that then i guess u can rebuild your engine but that would take more time.

Re: Changing engine vs. changing car
Depends on what the car is worth and if you do your own work or not. I can get motors rebuilt for less than a grand, and thats with stroker pistons. For poeple that pay 2-3 grand for a motor swap, you have to weigh that against what another car in better shape would cost.
