stock amp

i know that there is a small stock amp in the trunk of my 97 prelude. i was wonderin if anyone knows how to bypass it. i just installed new speakers and headunit, now my rear speakers wont play and i went to an audio shop and they told me i need to bypass the amp and run the wires straight to the rear speakers. anyone ever done this before??
