new deck
its amazing what a new deck can do...
i always thought the system in the 5th gen ludes was pretty decent. nice bass, the feedback system, everything. today however, i bought a kenwood deck that was on sale at best buy because it played mp3s. the original price was $170, i paid $99 for the deck plus $46 for the harnesses and kits, so in all, i still paid less for everything than the original price of the deck alone. either way, the difference in sound is amazing. everything is a lot clearer, and the entire system is more powerful. i know that the stock speakers aren't all that amazing, and the impedance on the stock wires isn't the best either. but wow, the deck alone makes such a difference. the acoustical feedback still works nicely considering its implemented in a small amp in the back, but i already noticed i'm gonna need new speakers and woofer. but yea...most of you are probably saying, no shit sherlock, a deck will always make a huge difference. the reason i'm writing this is to tell anybody who still believes that the stock system is pretty good, just to let you know that even a relatively inexpensive deck will make a world of difference.
