first off there is a 350 vortec engine. It is the 5.7 or the 5700 I had that engine in my 96 and loved it. As for the body styling that you are looking for it would be anywhere from 90-98 and some 99's that is when the body styling changed to the more round front end. Personally i like the look of my 2000 silverado, don't really like the look of the sierra's though.

Re: Z71

I can understand him wanting the older body style. Sure the new one might be prettier, but that old C/K was a tank!! I'm pretty sure that my '04 would get the snot beat out of it in fender benders that would have just dinged up my '91!

Like Kenny said, shop '98 and older for the old body style. This is actually the forum for the '99-up Silverado, see the C/K forum for more information on the body style you like.

Personally I like the 80-87 body style, but I have a 98 k1500. Because you can't get an 80-87 brand new.Every time they change style's, they get less attractive (too me). Just my opinion don't anyone take it personally.

I have a 2000 Silverado 5.3 4x4. I like the look better than the new turned up lights. Putting on a billet grille with inserts and clear lights really makes the front end stand out.
