Thumbs down Re: Help, Laguna Dashboard xmas tree...

I have had the same problem on my 1.8 16 valve Laguna (2202) for at least the last 5 years.
All functions on car work fine. Then suddenly, intermittently, Dashboard goes haywire with dials flicking all over the place or returning to zero (dead). This may or may not be accompanied by the Service light coming on and/or peculiar clicking noise from front speakers. Also the audio error message goes crazy.
Almost like having a "Ghost" in the machine.

Have taken car in to Renault and other garages spent £1000 trying to trace the fault - all to no avail.
The dash has been pulled out and tested - no problems there.
Circuits tested and wires also no problems.

A mechanic friend has said this could be a "MASTER CHIP" fault and that this may need to be changed.

Really annoying that even Renault cannot find this and sort it.
HELP

PS Also a Y registration !
