Re: is it worth it

Well, you'd be used to the weather, but it is up to you, do you want to give up all that for a car? I know I would, but I'm not you.

Re: is it worth it

For me it's pretty good. You're sort of rolling the dice on your life when you join. If you're in a position where you are willing to do that then hey, give it a shot. I was, I joined, I rolled the dice and I ended up in Japan and met my wife gone thru 3 skylines and I have no clue what I'm going to do when my enlistment is up. Everything has worked out pretty good so far. I'm 20 years old and I have a 3 story house with a 2 car garage. I work a good job doing network security on a military base and I have a top secret clearance so I am worth at least some money for the experience and the clearance. I know there are a lot of computer gurus out there and it's not really the best time considering the market and everything like that. But aside from that and the fact that most of these people get into computers for the money... I got into computers because I was fascinated by computer networking when I first learned the basics. I've been learning for 7 years and the more I learn, the more I realize I need to learn more. I think having an actual interest in network security puts me years aheof the people I work with and the people I will be competing against when it's time to look for a job. If you have a specific interest like I did, make sure you get a specific AFSC (Job Code) on your papers. It's a great place to start off although there is a lot of bullshit to begin with. My daily dose of bullshit isn't too bad though, and it all ends at 4PM every day.

Re: is it worth it

So...you'd give pu a 3 story house, a good paying job, to move to canada? Well...I am going to let you decide. But don't you already have skylines? Oh, wait, wrong guy. Sorry. You wanna move...just cause.

I don't have to face this delema, luckily, because I already live in canada. I am patiently counting down the next 10 years, because I want to get an R34 GTR.

guys in 15 years so much shit can change so its kinda pointless to just "wait" for the 15 years are up to get the car of your dreams, there will be tons of other miraculous cars that will be released by then, and who knows i've heard rhumours of the 15 year rule diminishing soon too

No I wouldn't go right now... but im in the military and I'm in okinawa. once I'm out of here there goes the COLA, and there goes my nice house and otherwise nice setup. Everytime you PCS (move) you roll the ice. Basicly once I move (and I can't stay here forever) I won't be making shit. And I'm probably not going to stay in the military forever.....

IF i'd move to canada it would be because it's almost like the united states (well... more so than japan, that's for sure) and you can still have a skyline.... cheap.

hey I said moreso than japan. Canada would seem VERY like the united states if you were where i've been for the past 3 years

Of course you wouldn't have to give up your citizenship, eventially you would have both.
Is it worth it for a Skyline?
I have visited the states and I like most of it alot but I love Canada and I think its worth it just because it's "Canada".

But thats just my opinion.
