97 Z-24 Cavalier Ignition problem

I have a 97 Z-24 that has been a great car untill a few weeks ago. I started out on a trip and it wouldn't idle. Made it to a Saturn dealer that found the coil cover to be cracked. After they replaced it, I would notice that the car would miss when in overdrive and only when warm. I took it to my Chevy dealer in Pgh that replaced the wires, still no good. I bought and replaced both coil packs, still no good. Back to the Saturn dealer, replaced ignition module, (not charging me, just trying to find problem), and you guessed it, still no good. They also checked with all GM recalls to re-program it and they were done. And the trans is OK as well. Seems to miss on cyl 1 and 4 the most. I'm tired of throwing $ in to it but want to keep the car. Oh yeah, one more thing I replaced is the egr valve. Still does it. Would appreciate some help!

sounds like it could be a spark plug or an injector fucked up but i never really see injectors on those mess up the reason 1 and 4 are both missfiring are cuz there in the same coil check out the plugs maybe ones cracked or something

Well I finally found it. Two of the coil covers that they got from the auto parts store were no good. The mechanic found out by putting jumper wires on them. The spark jumped out to the cylinder head. They got a GM one and the thing is fine now. What a mess but I'm glad it is cleared up. I am gonna try to gey some $ back from the auto parts store that sold them the bad batch of coil covers. Thanks
