Unhappy gst starts but quickly stalls

hey,
ive got a 96 gst.... the other day i used my auto start to warm the car up and everything worked fine. i got in the car put the key in started to drive. when i came to a stop sign the car stalled. i started again, it would go up to 1500 at the start then quickly drop to 0. it wouldn't even try to hold itself up or to bounce the rpm or anything. i checked the battery and everything was connected fine. Then when i leave the car overnite and come back the next day i start it up and everything is fine the idle and all. but then when i put in first gear and rev it goes up to 3000 then quickly come down to 0 and stalls again. ........ any help is appreciated....before i go insane
and give it to a mechanic.....thanks

Hard to guess from here, but its the ISCs job to "catch" the motor at idle speed. If the car is moving when its stalling the speed sensor could also do it, but I dont think this is an issue on 2g. IS your type s recirculated?

how long have you had the autostart on it? if you made any recent changes to the car undo them and see if that fixes the problem

might wanna check all of your hoses...UICP, LICP, make sure your intercooler is completely connected and check for any other ones that may be leaking

naa im not venting, im recurculating, also i dont have any vaccum/boost leaks,
ive had the starter on for 6 months, its not that....
i was thinking, cud the screw, on the throttle body plate, that tells where the gear to sit, cud that have moved making the gear sit in a way that at idle my car shuts off instead of stayin at 800-1000 originally.....???? cudn't this happen is the gear were to hit that screw had enought ie reving up by hand, cuz i remember doing that the same day this problem occured just a thought

Re: gst starts but quickly stalls

Nothing hits a screw on a 2g throttle body. The throttle closes fully, and air is bypassed around the plate via the BISS (base idle speed set/screw), ISC (idle speed control), and FIAV (Fast Idle Air Valve). The BISS should be set such that the ISC remains in the center of its available travel at the ECUs target idle speed (750 for stock ECUs) with the FIAV closed.

I still say ISC. USe a tech manual or website info (www.vfaq.com, www.crebotech.com, etc) and test the damn ISC already
