2 interior/exterior q's

ok im in the middle of buying a 95 talon ESI 150000 miles spd...ok first question is about the exterior...my last car was an 89 preluse 2.0s now if uve ever seen a lude some of them have coversover tha back where it says prelude...i was wondering if they made a cover like that to cover up the talon on the back...now the second Q i guess it could do with performance but im gonna ask here anyways...sorry. well i need to know about the shifter can i cut it to make a makeshift short shifter or would that be a bad idea? thanx for the answers in advance..i hope i stick around here for a long time

I heard the cutting is a very bad idea. Just buy a short shifter. Its weel worth it... if only I knew (Dave Dreams...)

i know a few people who have cut their shifters and havent had any problems but i said screw that and bought a shortshifter b/c i dont see what cutting it does you still have to move it just as far to get it into a different gear

they do make covers to block out where it says eclipse/talon, i dont know where to buy them but you will see them sometimes on ebay, or a local bodyshop can make a metal shet to go over it and match your paint.

or you can do it the easy way take off the eclipse/talon letters and then spraypaint it to match your car

buy a short shifter and cut it because short shifters are about the same size as the stock one , thats why people cut there stock ones but that only makes it look better

a short shifter changes the length below the shifter usually. if you picture rthe shift arm being a lever with the stock one having the pivot towards the end and the short shifter pivot is near the middle. this makes it so you move the short shifter a shorter amiount to change gears. the height doesnt change
