2001 CD player

My youngest brother recently bought a 2001 Cavalier in which the cd player displays err. After doing some research and looking at an older owners manual I figured out how to get it to play again. I did this by letting err pop up then held down the recall button. It started playing and worked fine for awhile, but now it's showing err again. We have tried and tried using the same fix as before but to no avail. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it or if the cd player is junk and needs to be replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i know that most electronics will sometimes be able to reset themselves if u disconect them from all power sources - if u disconnect it for few mins then reconect it an test it has a good chance of workin again but if it doesnt the unit may be damaged like u said - good like - also try finding one out of a salvaged car in the junk yard - salvage yards are the holders of alot of excellent things...

good luck
