Brake Pads

And so my pads have finally worn out. So i'm getting new ones, and I need suggestions. Don't recommend anything uber extremeor expensive (endless) because I'm not made out of money, and this will be for my daily driver, so they need to last a fair amount of time. These won't be for big aftermarket rotors or anything, they're going on my stock rotors, which will be resurfaced upon replacing the pads. (96 Prelude VTEC)

Re: Brake Pads

I recommend AEM pads. I used them for two years of autocrossing with pretty great results. They have great cold bite, do not dust too much and are fairly inexpensive.

You can also try Satisfied pads at http://www.tirerack.com

For the street you just want organic or semi-metallic pads. Anything more is overkill. And also make sure you bed-in the pads correctly.

Re: Re: Brake Pads

If your not looking for performance then Honda brake pads are the best option other than that any type of ceramic pad will work well. Just don't buy the cheapest pads available because they will be noisy & very dusty.

Actually if I remember right OEM Honda pads cost more than the AEMs. But that was like 3 years ago.

$35 on www.handaaccessories.com (H and A Accessories ) for stock pads. AEM are usually between $40 and like $47 for pads. I LOVE my Hawk HPS and factory blanks combo though, very good predictable stopping. Granted I did upgrade to stainless steel lines and ATE Super Blue fuid. Held up wonderfully at Streets of Willow Springs over the weekend.

But AEMs are great pads too.
