Mitsubishi 3000GT base or VR-4?

Hi I'm new to the boards here and I want to know if I would be better off buying a base Mitsubishi 3000GT and adding a turbo kit or buying the the VR-4 model. Now money is an issue and the VR-4 is more expensive, but it is more powerful. What would be cheaper? Adding a turbo or buying the VR-4?

I believe dishing out the extra for a VR-4 is well worth it. The base and the SL use a frontwheel drivetrain. Even if you were to take a base 3kgt, turbo it, and have it put out the same power as a VR-4, you'd find that it'll be a bit hard to get it all to the ground.

I used to preach the turbo kit for the base 3000gt's but the vr-4 comes stock twinturbo all wheel drive and that just makes it so much better compared to all the work you'd have to do to a base or sl 3000gt to get it up to that level.
