Question 86 c10 headlights not working

ok truck had been sitting for a year because of tranny, fixed that the other day working great.

But then i was checking the lights and everything works but the headlights. i know they are good. but no lights when i pull the switch. i have takin the switch out and looked at it. counfused as to where a fuse would be for the headlighs if there is one the book makes it seem like its in the switch none there. help please any ideas!!

have you checked your grounds and terminals for corrosion ?

funny thing it works now

Yeah so on my ride back from grandma's i thought do the brights work?
Well tried the brights and they turned on then when i turn them off the headlights where working joy!!!

Thanks this is a great forum.

P.S. I dont think my truck likes to go to Grandma's the tranny went out one year ago on the way there to this day.

check your grounds and terminals for corrosion. there is one small ground wire going from the battery to the front fire wall. chances are its broken or losse. when you truned on your brights you had enuff current to weld the connection, this small spot will heat up at some point and you will be with out lights once more.
