My 94 3.0 DOG V-6 automatic- What a slug!!

I have owned this since new & now have 140,000 on it. I really would like to keep it for a long time as it's in really nice shape but am really starting to get sick of the terrible power that the 3.0 V-6 puts out.

From what I read there is not alot you can do for this motor.

I'm mainly interested in more low-midrange torque so it has more guts going up hills.

Would headers help? If so, I don't want the thing loud either & have a feeling they would do that. Am I correct?

Don't want to spend a fourtune either.

I'm also afraid any mods will decrease the gas milage so am really leary about what I choose to modify. I get 15-16 with it now and about 20 on a trip.

ALSO- Wonder what its worth? NO RUST, ALL STOCK (EXCEPT FOR SHOCKS & REAR COIL SPRINGS), PRETTY MUCH LOADED WITH 3 PACK CD PLAYER & MOTOR (THE WHOLE MOTOR) WAS REBUILT FROM TOYOTA AT 120,000. THE HEAD GASKET WENT SO THERE IS ONLY 20,000 ON MOTOR AT THE MOMENT

Suggestions?

Thanks!!

Yes but if it is a 4x4 it is spelt "dawg"....j/k lol....Value if 4x4 would be between 6 and $7,000.00 with factual price as always, any price agreed upon by 2 consenting parties.

Yes performance exhaust system would be noisier.

You can increase performance somewhat by adding free flowing exhaust,headers,chip/computer mods,dial-in/fine tune airflow meter and use a adjustable dashpot resistor on dash to enrichen/lean fuel mixture via head/coolant temp. sensor...blah blah blah...or do like most and make sure it is in good tune and switch off overdrive and/or downshift manually when pulling the hills.Amazing is finding out after buying a 1992 v6 4x4 with 4:88 gears that in same year the 4cyl also made same 150hp with added est mpg better (so I have heard from 4cyl 4x4 owners of same year.

P.S. If you find any good cheap mods to improve performance in that dawg...post it....Happy holidays :o)
