electrical mess--02 TB

I've just been "forced" to purchase an extended warranty. We've had our TB for 30 months, and we've just turned to within 1.000 kilometers (we're from Canada) of the factory warranty. With over 20 visits to the dealer & most of them related to the electronics I'm currently in a battle with GM to rectify the STILL ONGOING problems....My vehicle's been tied up over 40 days in the first 2 1/2 years for warranty issues. Here's just a few of the most frustrating problems...

1) Radio---the on-board memory in the unit that controls other car features still doesn't work. The radio has been replaced 5 times and it still isn't working. It also won't hold the preset stations. After replacement, it goes on the fritz again between one week and 6 weeks.
2) Our remotes haven't worked for the last month, along with the tailgate & rearglass not working (locked shut). Also--no rear wiper, and the accessories won't stay on for the 5 minutes they're supposed to after the vehicle is turned off...They replaced the Body Control Module that they say regulates the radio, along with the radio (again) two weeks ago. Within 12 hours, our remotes didn't work, along with the tailgate/window wiper problem again. As an added bonus, occasionally when we unlock the car manually with the key, the horn will go off!!
3) heating/Air Cond.controls replaced.
4) module controlling speedometer & dash instumentation replaced.
5) tail-light bulb burning out (re-call issue)

The staff at our dealership have been polite, but they can't fix the problem. When I called GM (as a long-time owner--5 previous new GM's and never had to complain about any of those vehicles) I'm getting a complete run-around, mixed with rudeness. I'm trying to get an appt. with the area GM rep, but even that's impossible. Absolutely no co-operation or support from GM. I'm thinking of suing. Any suggestions or similar problems???

Seem to be hearing a lot of this type story lately. Had similiar problems with our Blazer, figure to ride it out and trade for a Cherokee pretty soon. Saw an article today in a business report about GM's slide in quality, expects to see Toyota as world's largest auto maker soon. Darn shame. Always had very good luck with out GM vehicles but they won't burn us again. Good luck with your TB, hopefully the extended warranty is better that the paper it's written on.

Angry Re: electrical mess--02 TB

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I Have the EXACT problem your describing! I also have an 02 Trailblazer. My liftgate WONT lock though. I have the same frustrating problems and it's not fun trying to unlock the driver side door (no lock on any other door) in the dark and in the rain! Here's a little tip: If you lock your keys in your truck (as I did) and you pay for OnStar every month (as I did) they can't unlock your door if your keyless entry isn't working. I learned that after 30 minutes on the my cell phone in a cold, dark parking lot. I couldn't climb in the back because of the equipment I was hauling around. Argh! The entire vehicle "kills" with the key off now instead of the usual radio play, windows up and down, etc. for 10 minutes.

Additionally, My truck has had the a/c control module and temperature sensor replaced, windshield wiper sensor and module replaced, tail-lamps replaced and now my front windshield wipers are on the Fritz again! My DVD player gets whacky about once a month, the lights dim when the steering wheel is turned hard to the left, the wheels make a grinding sound when turned hard to the right. Please, let me know if you've been helped...no-one at the chevy dealer will help me. They want to charge me $100 to diagnose and $300 to repair.

Thanks!
