Problems with my 1997 grand prix GT

A weird thing happend today, I changed the driver's side Lighthousing and changed the oil on my car, started the car let it run for 5-7 minutes. Afterwords I went into the house and returned to the car and tried to start it, when I turn the key the ABS,Oil,and Engine Lights lights flicker 3 times and will not start. I can't tell if its a starter or some type of sensor that I don't know much about. It has been 2 1/2 hours since and the car just flickers 3 times and will not turnover. If anyone knows anything about this problem your help would be really appreciated thanks!!!!

That sounds like the security system telling you something. Not sure what its saying. Try a different key.

Check the battery to make sure it didn't go dead on you. Also check the battery terminals and the grounds. I would also try jumping across the terminals of the starter to see if maybe the ignition switch went bad. I would start with the battery and main battery leads though. It is strange that it happened after an oil change but things can happen. (Try jumping it with another car to see if it starts that way. If it does then the battery is the culpret.)

Ericvrose is right. I always forget that stupid security system on these cars. Pontiac needs to do some improvement on those things. If the key change doesn't work try my other idea.

I don't think 1997 has vats or resistor thing in the key.

Wow

I rechecked all the connections on my battery post and tightened them down a couples turns went to start the car and it ran.....go figure?
The only I could come up with is that when I shut the hood of the car it rattle the battery around and maybe twicked the posts a little, it is a pretty heavy hood and it slipped out of my hands and slammed down and I didn't even think twice about it.

Anyway thought I was in a bind Thanks for all you suggestions!!!!!!!
