1989 alternator change

i can't seem to find an easy way to change my alternator on my shop car..its a 1989 z-24 but there is absolutely no room to get at the tensioner. Is there an easy way to get the alternator off???

Sorry fo rthe delay,Holidays and all. Anyway, to get at the tensioner on this car you will need a 15mm offset wrench or you can get a loaner tool at Autozone. Then this job is very simple. Good Luck.

sooo

why would it be harder to change on an 89 than a 99?
i don't understand that at all

For a start completely different motor. 89 was 2.8 V6 and a 99 z24 will have a 2.4 quad4. The engine bay is a different shape and motor companies change the way they do things often. 10 years is a pretty big gap

^^ 2.4L LD9 the 2.3L was called the quad 4.. both were twin cam.

sorry my brain was in moneymode cause usually they wanna make it so u will more than likely have to pay a pro to fix it unless u really wanna do it yourself
