Unhappy my heater

Alright i just bought my new car friday and when i go to turn on the heat friday i dont have any. The fan will turn on and push out cold air and the knob is busted off the heater controls but i turned it to heat with plyers. The belt on the AC compressor is off if that could have anything to do with it. I was just wondering if someone else has had this problem or someone could give me some advice to fix it thanks. its a 91 CRX Si

no the ac belt being off will have nothing to do with it... my *guess* would be that its the heater core... i can't 100 percent that though...

How much would a heater core cost me roughly? and are they interchangable from vehicle to vehicle? and one more how hard would it be to install? thanks

Im pretty sure it's the heater core too.I think they can be interchangable from the 88-91 Civic's or other CRX's for that fact. Try checking that out or having a diagnostic check on your car to see if that's the problem.

I was sitting in front of my friends house last nite trying to figure out what the problem was and his uncle comes running out and is like hey lets try this. I guess theirs a cable on the end of the knob that turns from hot to cold...... and since my knob is busted off the cable isnt there to pull this valve open so u have to open it manually so i have either cold as **** air or hot as **** air but im not bitchin. Thanks anyway just wanted to drop ya this line in case anyone else has the same problem.:flash:
