questions on d15b1 > d16z6 parts swap & more
ok, so first post on here and i have a few questions after searching for the past few days so hopefully i can ask some informed non repetitive questions.
I have a 90 civic hb with a d15b1 and 4 speed manual trans. I just purchased a d16z6 with a 5 speed manual trans from a 93 ex w/90k, this also included the axles and ecu, no harness. First off the new engine is missing the TP sensor, fuel regulator and a/c pump. Can u swap these three things over from my d15 or do i need new ones? Second I'm pretty sure after reading that I will not need the axles even with the new trans, but with the new trans i donot know (because i don't have it yet) if it is a hydrolic or cable. could someone tell me if the 93 ex was a hydrolic or cable and what i would need two change over from my current 4 speed manual. last since i have the ecu but no harness from the 93 is all i need one of the obd0 to obd1 piggyback harnesses that i have read about? Also I don't really care about the vtec as this is my winter car/ daily driver somtimes in the summer. BUT, let say i did care about the vtec, what would i need to use it? I also found this site by searcing but i was wondering if there were any others on doing this swap. http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/sohcvtec.html Thanks Chris |

93 civic trans is hydro. i dont think hasports came out with a hydro conversion for d series, i knwo its out for the b series, anyone know ? so my recommendation is to keep your stock 4 speed with the new engine
since you cant buy tps sensors just by themsleves, try to go to a junk yard and see if you can find a honda tb, make little slits in the little rivet looking bolts and use a screw driver and unscrew it. buy an aftermarket fpr. i dont konw if your stock compressor will bolt up to your z6, doesnt hurt to try. ive seen a car that runs without changing the harness plugs over to obd1 and it ran, didnt run good but it ran. some obd1 plugs for sensor maybe different then obd0 plugs |
