Front end noise
I have been getting some noise from the front end, i think from the drivers side wheel area. it sounds like something is wearing and the sound speeds up and slows down according to the wheel speed. However, if I turn to the left a little while I am driving, the sound goes away, going straight or turning right and the sound stays. Any idea what i could look at to see what is causing the problem. I'm hoping it's as easy as a wheel alignment.

Re: Front end noise
Have you checked you break pads? Wear sensor rubbing the rotor. Enough play/flex to cause sensor to pull away in turns.

Re: Front end noise
It sounds like the wheel bearing is going bad. The key here is that the sound goes away when you turn the wheel slightly. Take it to your mechanic or the dealer to get it changed. You can do it yourself if you have the tools and save some bucks.

The hub assembly costs around US$120 (aftermarket, not GM) A fully equipped mechanic shop will change it in 20 minutes. Last edited by LMP; 12-07-2004 at 12:36 PM. |
