97 Jetta Starting Problem
Sorry if something similar has already been posted. My 97 2.0 Jetta started steaming and smelling strongly of coolent, so I parked it and checked and could not find a leak, however, now it won't start, it just cranks over and over, etc. When I left it for a day, it started, but would bog down and stall if you touched the gas, and now it has a slightly "gas-like" smell. After all of the money I have put into this thing lately, is it too much to ask that it be something simple?
Thanks Shawn |

Re: 97 Jetta Starting Problem
I'd start by having the codes read.

Re: 97 Jetta Starting Problem
Ummm...I had similar problems, and it ended up being that a simple fuse was not fully plugged in. So check all fuses, bus and block.
