Question couple questions..

I have a couple questions.. lol
I live in Alaska, and so it likes to get cold up here, but I also like listening to the radio when im driving, and being cold the antenna doesnt like to go completly up, is that going to ruin something? im kinda worried its going to, is there a way i can keep it up/down so it doesnt have problems going up? or should i just say screw the radio for the winter and only play cd's?
Also, the sunvisor clips are broken, and there isnt a mitsubishi dealer in alaska, most of the salvage yards ive called have said they rarely get any eclipse/talons in, should i go through a dealer down in the lower 48, or will any clips fit in my car? its just the things the visor clips into to hold it up
probably pretty blonde questions, but most of you probably know more about eclipse's then i do.. lol

Re: couple questions..

You could have a 12 volt current always going to ur wire so it will always be up. Check dsmtrader.com for parts. Post a wanted add. Probly wont ruin anything.

Re: couple questions..

for the antennae just turn the radio on so the antennae goes up then unplug the wire to the antennae motor.

for the clips any kind should work they'll just look weird. it shouldnt cost much to get a set sent up from a junkyard down here. or you can order a set from the dealer like scottsee said.

Re: couple questions..

i probably can get a killer deal on the clips for you. lemme go talk to the parts manager at the mitsu dealer here. then i'll let you kno what it'll run you to buy 'em and shipping 'em fedex 2 day will run about 10-12 bucks.

oh yea with the antenna question, with the stock deck in it if you play cd's it will stay down then as soon as you so to radio it will go up. if its an aftermarket deck then it will go up no matter what everytime the deck is on. to eliminate this problem just unplug one of the wires goin to the antenna motor when it up completely if you want it up all winter , if not cut the wire while the antenna is retracted so it stays down.

Re: couple questions..

yea with my aftermarket deck the antenna goes up whenever theres power to the deck. so you'll prolly wanna unplug one of the power wires to the antenna motor once the antenna is in the position you want it in.

Re: couple questions..

I had kinda the same problem with my antenna (98 Eclipse GS) about it not going up all the way so I left it down. However I never listen to the radio so that may not help you but here's how I did it. When you put in ur aftermarket cd player and hook it up with the wiring kit there will be a power antenna wire with a fuse in it (usually blue). All you have to do is take the fuse out of it. Then the power antenna won't get any power and won't ever go up. It's also much easier to fix than cutting anything. Just put the fuse back when it warms up.

Re: couple questions..

Are you kidding? I've been to the Mitsu and Chrysler (eagle) dealers in Anchorage. Mitsubishi is on Old Seward next to all of the other dealerships, between Dowling and Tutor. Chrysler is on the corner of Old Seward and Dowling.
