Re: 1988 Honda Accord LX
first off there is no direct or easy swap for a 3rd gen accord. it will be alot harder to swap a different engine in this car than say 4th and 5th gen accords. here are some options u can get rid of ur carburated engine in favor of a A20A3 fuel injected engine, or the F22A6 from a 4th gen accord (SE,EX) or the F22B1 engine for a 5th gen accord Ex.
110hp/114tq A20A3 140hp and 142tq SOHC 16v F22A6 145hp and 147tq SOHC 16v F22B1 |

info on F22 swap, looks like it's NOT worth it
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?...&highlight=f22 http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?...&highlight=f22 goto www.3geez.com for 3rd gen accord performance lots of info on modding the stock A20 engines, many guys big on upgrading carbed accord engines engines you may want to consider are older the B16 and B18A1 preludepower.com has some info on this (2nd generation prelude info, similar A20 engines as 3rd Gen accords) |

don't waste your time with an H22 (same mounts as F22) engine swap
yeah, it's an awesome engine, if you'd like to have custom engine mounts, custom axles, shifter linkages, and a hell of alot of hardwiring (and tons of little things here and there) a B16 can be dropped in, 160 hp... over the factory 110 hp A20a3 that you car most likely has that's a 45% increase in hp (torque numbers not available) that's like a decent turbo setup on an A20 and there are many turbo kits and manifolds available, for future modding and no offense, big bad mohawk guy, but i'm proud you found out how to redline in second gear (my cavalier wagon hits around 85 in second, btw, and i doubt it's faster than your car), that's quite the pointless thing to say about your car and, people, don't "gut" your cat by shoving a broomstick up the exhaust this gives the exhaust a blattey RICER sound, and not only illegalizes and ruins your exhaust, but is pretty retarded to even consider if you don't want a cat, go spend $20 and put in a straight pipe (not what i recommend), or get a CATCO cat (not the "glasspack" shaped so-called "reduced" cats, they're not cats, they're resonaters) just for all your information |
