Engine Noise

Wife has an 02 Caravan (3.8L, 30,500 mi). Engine started making a strange low growling noise last week. More noticeable when I give it a few RPM. Hear it while in park as well as on the road. Know it's something since my wife (who only knows how to turn the key) hears the same thing.

Taking it in to Dodge (warranty) next week and would like to point them somewhere to avoid the infamous 'unable to duplicate problem'. Any thoughts? Thanks.

When sitting idle at a red light and the light turns green and you pull away does the van sometimes loose a second before pulling off or jump on pull away ?
If so it's the gearbox. If not, without knowing where on the engine the noise is comming from it could be one of many things.
Hope this helps ...regards
