valve body problem

I'm currently on my 3rd 4runner. I love them, that's why I keep getting them. The most current one is a 2002, I have 35,000 miles on it. I never had one problem with any of them except for this one. The check engine light came on 2 months ago, but the truck ran fine. I took it to the dealer the same day of the occurrance, they found the truck running a transmission code. They checked the transmission fluid, reset the computer, and the light never came back on. Two weeks ago the truck would "bang" out of gear (automatic transmission) between 30-40 mph. It happened 3 times, then would not duplicate the problem again. Truck ran like it was new, but I took it back to the dealer anyway. They could'nt duplicate the problem, no light came on the dash, but they decided to replace the valve body inside the transmission. Now that they have the valve body out, and the fluid pan off they pointed out alot of metal shavings they found, I'm not easily shaken, but it was alot of shavings, I am honestly surprised by the amount. You probably have the same problem(valve body). I am still under warranty luckily, a new transmission is in the process of being installed.
