hard to get in 4th!

ok i searched and i found preaty much the same question but i cant bring the thread back b/c its from TWO years ago. but lately my friends 2g GST has been stubborn and doesnt go into fourth gear easily all of the time it does most of the time, but some times it doesnt and he has to keep trying and after like 2 or 3 trys of getting it into 4th it goes in. in the other thread similar to this one a guy said to check the lower radiator hose to make sure it isnt hitting the linkage could that be it? he also said to change the tranny fluid and it might help?? true?? but i was wondering if it was a syncro??? are there any other ideas of what it could be and easy ways to fix it, if its not a syncro????

You basically named the only two things. Linkage problem and fluid. Those two things are so simple you guys could have checked the linkage and replaced the fluid in the time it took you to post I would defintely do that. If it still sucks, its probably the tranny. The funny thing is, having external problems that cause hard shifting (hydraulics, fork, linkages, etc) will end up causing bad synchros. So it may be too late anyway

lol i would have checked it but it was like 1 am here so i was getting ready for bed but thanks a lot for all of your help i will have to go check those things later man
