Thumbs down Grand National build up on T.V., they screwed it up

Did anyone catch the show FULL THROTTLE or HEAVY THROTTLE (can't remember which) on Discover Channel or TLC (can't remember that either) the other night? It was with those twin guy's that had the Super Tuner T.V. show a while back on Spike T.V.. On this show they took 2 teams of 2 (+ one of the twins on each side) with each team having their own 85' GN to build up. Whoever built the fastest car, that team got to keep the cars (1 for each teammate) and the other team got nothing. Anyhow, after the big build ups, one team ran mid 17's and other ran mid 14's. What the hell? I could run faster than that! they totally screwed up the image of the Grand National on that show, what kind of Super Tuner's are these twin jokers?

They forgot to adress two major things with thoes cars. One is the small fuel pumps and faulty wiring to the pump. Two, they put in 50# per hour injectors (Too big to begin with) and did not even bother using any type of reporgramed PROM. They also wasted the money on the MSD crap because people have taken the stock ing. system into the nines all day long. That and it was an 85 to begin with. Hot air, the 86'87 Gn was a whole different ballgame, they forgot to mention that as well. They however did a beautiful job on the history of the Turbo Buick and Buick racing. They just need to get the "Turbo Twins" off that show and not let them touch anymore american steel. They might know what is going on in the import workd but, nitrous mustangs running 16's and two GN's running 14's and 17's? Give me a break. They could of gone faster with the GN's if they would of just leaft the stock turbo on and used slicks, 118 octane race fuel and turned up the boost.

I look on the bright side, every ricer that watched that show now thinks my car is a mid 14 sec car at best........ I love educating todays misdirected youth.

Just cause the speedometer says 85 dont mean they dont go faster i was on the thru way last summer in my 84 HOTAIR and was at 105mph when the trooper pulled me over. I loved it but the insurance went sky high but it was worth it.

OUCH. bet the fine wasn't fun to pay either. my speeding ticket in my 86 GN was only 79 mph in a 55 zone and the trooper said he hated to give me a ticket...but he still did. i used court supervision to weasel out of that one.
