Question Chipping Info Needed???

I have a 2001 GTI 1.8T I think it's AWR engine code.

Any information comparing the GIAC and the APR chip would be greatly appreciated.

I like the APR chip because of the switch it comes with and from what I have heard is very reliable.

What would give me speed as well as reliability (no problems)???

Don't be afraid to be a critic all information is greatly appreciated and accepted..

Thank's

mike GTI 1.8T

From every thing that I've read MTM has the best chips for your 1.8 turbo. Remember it's an AUDI engine. It's quite more expensive then say Neuspeed's P-chip, TAP, ARP, but every thing that I've read says MTM is the best. Check out hoppenmotorsport.com.

P.S. I have autoathority chip for my 98 GTi VR6

GIAC is pretty good about hooking ya back up when you decide to upgrade even more.

APR is VERY nice if you get their turbo upgrade along with it

I have a TT chip, its not too shabby, but I'll be goin with a GIAC when it comes time for cams.

i went with the APR chip w/stock programing. i went with this chip because i dont plan to upgrade my turbo and the 1.0 bar APR chip is designed for the stock kkk03 turbos, the apr chip has a switchable stock mode, it has a lifetime software warranty, free software upgrades, awesome chip lots of power. very reliable. just make sure you change the dv after chipping.

Chipping Info Needed???

Hey!!!

I just think that the APR Turbo Upgrade System w/their CHIP are one of the best systems for tuning the 1.8T engine. You get good torque and good horsepower, and they are by far, the best company to give the 'most" horsepower and the "most torque" for your 1.8T engine.
But if your only gonna get the chip get the GIAC chip.

PEACE!!!!:smoker2: :grey: :sun: :bandit:

i'd say both are good chips. just go with the chip tuner that is closest to your area with the best support.....my deciding factor. my mechanic drives a APR stage 3 tuned S4 he is also the APR distributor in my area need i say more...

the GIAC guy in my area hard to get a hold of.

other chips to consider may be the AMS chip.
